The laser is extremely precise compared to a scalpel. We can operate it with an accuracy of tenths of a millimetre. We can remove lesions in areas inaccessible to the scalpel, for example on the eyelid or the edge of the eyelid near the eye. The laser beam is directed at the skin lesion in question and is absorbed by extracellular and intracellular water. A slight warmth and burning sensation is felt during the treatment. This method leaves no scarring and is safe for people of all ages, including children. There is less risk of scarring with laser treatments.

The laser ruby removal procedure is aseptic, so the tissue heals easily. Lasers are used to remove lesions that are safe, benign, i.e. do not carry the risk of cancerous lesions, which need to be examined under a microscope.

• pregnancy,
• active bacterial or viral infection within the treated lesion
• susceptibility to scarring
• steroids and photosensitisers

Before:

• do not expose the treated area to UV radiation for at least 4 weeks prior to treatment
• Do not use strong chemical peels or fine or coarse peels 1 week before treatment.

After:

• scabs gradually appear on the treated area and should not be scraped off
• scabs can be moisturised and lubricated to speed up regeneration
• The use of sunscreen (minimum SPF 30) and avoidance of direct exposure to UV rays until complete recovery is recommended.
